Exterior is nice but a little dissapointed with the performance compared to my old made in Japan Zojirushi
it cooks adequately but froths up liquid onto the lip under the lid and also burns the rice on the bottom
I dont really recommend it for the price. Made in Japan products are the best because they care about quality for their citizens and not just to make some made in cheap China export to sell to Americans at a high profit margin without regard to function and quality
Cooks rice very well, and has several special features like bread baking that may be important to you. If so, this will be a good choice. If you are only interested in cooking rice, the Zojirushi would be a better choice in that it has two timers and the controls are more convenient to get to since they are on top, while the Sanyo’s are on the front. The front controls are almost enough for me to return it, but I’m not sure I want to pay the extra to ship it back and also the price premium of the Zojirushi.
I love this rice cooker. It’s easy to program and easy to clean. Make sure you use the plastic serving spoon. because if you scratch the inner pot, you will not be able to find a replacement. I’m not too thrill about the bread making feature… way too much trouble to make such a small loaf. Buy this product if you are using it to cook rice and not making bread.
